Sunday 6 June 2010, 10–12:00
Another Wales Biodiversity Week event will take place on Sunday 6th June at the County’s Country Parks. Between 10:00 and 12:00 on the Sunday morning why not come along and help the rangers and Butterfly Conservation Volunteers identify the moths they will have trapped the night before. You’ll be amazed at the size, colour and shapes of the moths caught. Each country park has a different habitat and will hopefully attract a range of moths that use those habitats. Some species of moths are dependent on a specific habitat type and without a range of habitats our moths would decline. This ‘snapshot’ survey of moths on a single night in the county over a range of habitats will be an interesting record of the moth population in the county and hopefully give people a chance to see some beautiful moths they may well not have seen before. Ynys Dawela Nature Park, Gelli Aur, Llyn Llech Owain CP and Pembrey CP are all taking part - for more information contact Isabel Macho, Biodiversity officer – This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
